OVER THE DESK is a series of informal conversations by Bradley North & Kieran Collins around art practice.This auditory diary came to fruition during the COVID 19 pandemic, when they discovered that the act of candid conversations had become detached from their daily communications with the MA cohort.

Episode 1: Bradley North: ART AS A DIARY
Through this episode we discuss Bradley Norths art practice. Where it began and the hurdles tackled to arrive at a place of contentment. Bradley is not interested in painting, nor is he interested in the conventional sense of representation or the use of conventional materials. His work embodies lived experience through autographic mark making. Working has become a process of his understandings.
Episode 2: Kieran Collins: THE ALBUM AND I
Through this episode we discuss Kieran Collins art practice. Kieran is an artist, collector and archivist who uncovers the overlooked family album. The tragic news of his Nana Collins death unveiled a series of questions when faced with his album for the first time. Identifying a photograph can be a complicated process but it can give the owner an understanding to the people within the album and fragments to small insights to their lives. Each generation brings new perspective and new understandings. Photographs have other roles in the family history which are almost as important. It is a means by which the family historian can not only get to know a long- deceased ancestor but can begin to identify with the living relative.

As myself and Bradley North have created this podcast we have now created a Instagram to advertise the new episodes. We have also payed to promote one of our videos to get more listeners. We spent 10 pounds to promote the post in New York as we wanted to see how we could get more diverse listeners and listeners out side of the United Kingdom.
