Take an example of a work of art, choose something that you feel has some relevance to you perhaps in terms of medium, or subject, or other aspect. Discuss the work in relation to the question of practice: does this work relate to the wider practice of the artist? does it exemplify the artist’s practice? does it offer a way to discuss contemporary artistic practice more widely? Research the background or context of the work and gather information to support your discussion. Reviews, other discussion of the artist’s work, relevant news stories, relevant information on the materials or making processes used, can all contribute to the discussion. Write 200-250 words on the topic.
