Canceled Group Exhibition Piece

Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 and the subsequent lockdown the first year exhibition was canceled. This piece was going to be part of the group exhibition at Leadworks.

Before the lockdown the group had a group meeting at the space to discuss ideas about how we would like to display out work.

my piece which at that point was untitled was a piece focusing on the mass scale of discarded orphan domestic photography. The piece was inspired by Erik Kessel's Album Beauty 2012.

Kessels art practice questions the contemporary and past modes of archival processes. He juxtaposed these mode of archival images storage by exhibiting the traditional family photographic album alongside his photographic printout of every photo published on the photo sharing website Flickr.

This pieces was created by placing all of my collection of 1500 orphan photographs into a iKea display case.
