Reflecting on Crit.
I Presented the collection of 1500 orphan family photographs. I wanted the photographs to be a catalyst for conversation. I wanted my peers to respond to the collection and talk about their family albums and where they are now. Most of the responses that I received was that some of my peers did talk about their personal family memories and history but there were some photographs within their albums they didn’t know of. Some have begun the process of discarding photographs of people they do not know.
From some of them telling me about them discarding their photographs this made me think about changing my project. I thought about possibly taking someone’s discarded photograph and researching them to find a narrative and identity of the person in the photograph.
